The Cellar Door is a Hong Kong based company specializing in supplying boutique wines from around the world. Every single wine is hand selected and each year they visit their wineries to ensure they offer the very best from around the world. Their long term goal is to take these wines and share them with as many people as possible and make buying wine an easy and enjoyable process.
The Cellar Door needed a web site that would be able to be easily updated in-house, with products clearly displayed, and integrate a comprehensive e-commerce system to take payments online.
The Seasoned Approach
The Cellar Door wanted to keep the colours on the site earthy to give the feeling of an aged cellar holding quality wines. Also making the images black and white classically ages the appearance of the site.
The site has an in depth e-commerce system enabling visitors to buy the products online, and be edited easily in-house. With the product list, it was important to make the information clear so customers would find shopping and picking a suitable wine easy. This was achieved with the navigation on the left hand side drawing the user’s attention to the various wine regions.
When a product is clicked the visitor is taken to the tasting notes section which provides them with full details of the wine, making the experience for shopping easy and clear.
